We purchased this thermostat after our programmable thermostat broke. We are always home and never liked all the settings it had. This works great! Simple on and off design with nice big numbers on a warm blue background. It looks good and functions as it should. It has a nice big button on the right side built into the black trim that makes the blue light come on which is a great feature in the dark. It comes with 3 faceplates, 2 of which have a rubberized texture feel to them, very cool. Bottom line, for the price it looks great and works great too. No fancy bells and whistles...

Bought this to replace my old dial type mercury thermostat for my gas furnace.
The good:
It does look good on the wall. The colors of the covers are nice and should go with anything.
The blue backlight is nice and the numerals are large enough to see clearly. I have not experienced any noise when activating the light as others have with the programmable model. I had no trouble with the cover, it snaps on and off easily and the controls are accessible under it. The programming of the heating cycles is defaulted at 4 per hour. To change that is easily done per directions if desired. The mounting on the wall was basic and the wiring was not difficult, although the directions could certainly be more detailed and clearer. All in all this thermostat looks good on the wall and the battery operated display works fine, which brings us to the bad:
It didn't work. I wired it correctly according to instructions for a 2 wire 24 volt system. Nothing. So good looks aside it is going back. Since the old mercury thermostat is now history I still need to get a new one but thankfully it is warm now so no hurry.
UPDATE: I emailed the vendor via Amazon on May 22nd to let them know that this item was not working. Their return policy is that an item is returnable if unopened in the original packaging. OK, since that is impossible now, the item is unreturnable and even if it was as of this date, June 9, 2011, I have heard nothing back from them. I will have an expert check it out for me and if it can be made to work I will report back on that.

Overall, Inferno is a decent tranformer. Except for turning him into the "pants" of a Powerlinx, the transformations are quite easy. As the top of a Powerlinx, he is exceedingly unimpresive. But, after making him the "pants" of powerlinx with HotShot and Tow-Lie, he is less trhan impressive, but still works better than some others in "pants" mode. I haven't had any problems with durability yet, but perhaps I have an updated mold.

This skeleton is cheaply made, full of anatomical errors, and not worth the money if you are at all serious about using it for any kind of anatomy work/studying. The manufacturer invented a carpal bone, they screwed the right arm in backwards, and there are lots of other annoying details (more like lack thereof.) I specifically emailed the company selling this to ask whether it had such details as the deltoid or gluteal tuberosities, which they claimed it did, but it does not because there is a giant SEAM running down the entire length of every long bone. Very very very disappointing. I suppose if all you want it for is a Halloween decoration it would work, but there are probably much cheaper skeletons you could get for that purpose.

This model is useful for the big picture, but it lacks a lot of detail. I bought this model over the smaller edition hoping that it would have more detail to it. The box says that it's great for future doctors or nursing students, but it's far too simplistic for a college anatomy course. Many of the bony landmarks are not shown or are shown incorrectly. Also, the skeleton's screw takes up a good portion of the skull. So, even though the calvaria is removable, you can vaguely make out the sphenoid bone inside, and that's it.

The quality is just ok. For example, it says that the mandible is removable, but I couldn't get mine to come off, and there are no directions. My Mr. Thrifty also came with his first floating rib bent up, and he sits lop-sided on the stand.
