We purchased OXO Tot Sprout Chair a few weeks ago. We were really excited about the purchase and although it was a splurge ($250 for a high chair is not cheap!) we thought we would get years of use out of it for our first baby and hopefully for any future babies. Unfortunately, I dont think this will be the case. The tray of the chair is already discolored!! I could not believe it. I ALWAYS wash the tray immediately after a feeding with hot, soapy water (as instructed by manufacturer). My little guy just started solids, he only eats twice a day and I spoon feed him (not as messy as if he were feeding himself). This means the chair has literally been used less than 25 times! It's absolutely ridiculous that the tray is discolored already and wasn't able to hold up to two weeks of use! This is obviously some sort of defect with the tray. I have contacted the manufacturer and will update my review once I receive more information from them. I would hope they would replace the tray. I would be very hesitant to spend this kind of money on a high chair that is such terrible quality. I regret my purchase and wish I would have bought the Stokke Tripp Trapp.

UPDATE: I contacted customer service about the discoloration and their response was to continue washing it and over time, it should fade. I couldn't believe how ridiculous and unhelpful this response was. I was able to get some of the discoloration out using baking soda. But, of course, I dont have time to do this regularly. I have a new problem now, the inside of the tray seems to be taking on water and I am unable to get it out. I am disgusted at the idea of old, stale water sitting inside the tray my baby eats off. I plan to contact customer service again but based on their unhelpful response before, I am not hopeful. I am definitely NOT SATISFIED with my purchase.

I recently purchased this highchair after much research into high chairs. The chair (according to my husband) was very easy to set-up and also we notice right away how sturdy it is. The ease of which the tray goes on and off is also great, especially since it is done with one hand quite easy. The chair itself does not take up a lot of room which was important in looking at different highchairs. The pads, tray, and seat all clean up easy. So far it has exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it.

A great chair. We looked at the Graco Blossom, the Keekaroo, the Stokke, the Boon, and the Oxo. Ultimately this one won due to it being the most affordable long lasting (grow with your child) chair with a reasonably small footprint for our eat-in kitchen. The Graco Blossom had a bigger footprint than I wanted, it didn't fold away, and the booster seat was a separate attachment that I had to find room to store. The Keekaroo and the Stokke, require additional parts to allow the item to grow with baby through various stages. By the time we added up all the pieces, the Oxo was a much better buy. The Boon looked like a great chair, but wouldn't last as long with baby. Ultimately we decided to spring for the Oxo and give it a try. So far we're loving it!

Pros:
-Reasonably small footprint
-Attractive modern design
-Sturdy wooden base with strong seat (hopefully will last through multiple kids)
-Easy to clean
-Secure 5 point harness with a between the leg portion that is attached to the base vs. the tray (that way baby is still secure even when the tray is removed)
-Easy to remove tray (I can pull it out with one hand)
-Grows with baby and transitions to booster seat
-Can be pushed up to the table for an older toddler wanting to eat with the family vs. from a tray

Cons:
-Doesn't recline like some conventional high chairs do. So, baby does have to be 6 months to use it. Chairs that recline can be used sooner for bottle feeding.
-Large seat that may not be suitable for smaller baby (our little guy is skinny so we have to put receiving blankets rolled up beside him...but I think it's worth it to buy something that he can use when he's bigger too)
-Doesn't fold away. This chair is meant to stay in place at the table.
